Klarälven

The Klarälven (Clean river) is
Swedens longest river. In total it is aproxematly 460 km long.
Of this it runs for about 300 km inside of Sweden.
Before entering Värmland it emanates from Lake Rogen
near Härjedalen and runs through lake Femunden in Norway.
There it becomes Trysilelva, the Norwegian name of the
river.

The river has, up until 1991, provided
much economical benefits, providing a suitable transport
route for log driving, while in present day featuring
internationally recognised sport fishing waters for
salmon and trout.
Klarälven has clean and fresh water,
suitable for bathing, although caution should be taken
if bathing, as the currents can be treacherous.
Between Sysslebäck to Edebäck the river
is suitable for canoeing and kayaking without the
necessary of any land transport (now water energy plants).
We provide the opportunity to do so with our rent-out of
expedition sea-kayaks or Linder / Gatz canoes.

Our starting points are at Sysslebäck,
, Likenäs, Ambjörby, Stöllet, Fastnäs
and Byn near Ekshärad.
